Youth Steering Committee Member (5-year term)

About the role

The Human Sciences Research Council (HSRC) is seeking twelve Youth Steering Committee Members for its U’Good! research programme. Members will serve a five-year term, representing the youth perspective across the programme’s twelve focus countries and contributing to research on relational approaches to wellbeing.

Key responsibilities

• Document the relational wellbeing (RWB) research process and share insights from your country’s youth experience.
• Contribute to the selection of research projects and guide the Youth Community of Practice.
• Identify priority areas for youth wellbeing and help bridge knowledge gaps.
• Act as an ambassador for the programme, promoting its objectives among peers.
• Participate in advisory meetings, project conferences, report reviews and ad‑hoc tasks.
• Attend relevant events and conferences, both virtually and in‑person where required.

Required profile

• Age between 18 and 30 and resident of one of the twelve focus countries.
• Reliable internet access and ability to join remote conferences.
• Demonstrated experience in youth engagement and leadership.
• Proficiency in English (written and spoken).
• Willingness to commit to a five‑year tenure.
