About the role
Our client in the mining sector is seeking an experienced Winding Engine Driver to operate and maintain winding engines for underground operations. The role requires a strong focus on safety, technical competence, and the ability to work effectively in a demanding environment.
Key responsibilities
- Operate winding engines safely and efficiently in underground mining sites.
- Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and minor repairs on winding equipment.
- Monitor engine performance and respond promptly to any irregularities.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Document operational data and report equipment issues to the maintenance team.
Required profile
- Grade 12 or equivalent NQF 4 qualification.
- Valid Winding Engine Drivers Certificate issued by the DME.
- Medically fit to work underground.
- Minimum three years of experience as a qualified Winding Engine Driver in a mining environment.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
Required skills
- Mechanical engineering competence.
- Operation of winding engines.
