Field Service Engineer - Durban

About the role

The Field Service Engineer will ensure high‑quality delivery of services to customers, handling preventive maintenance, installations and upgrades of equipment. The role involves close collaboration with expertise centres and direct interaction with customers to guarantee satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Promote preventive maintenance through audits, use of company kits and consumables.
• Perform pre‑installation, installation, audit and maintenance of equipment on site.
• Deliver customer training on CAM applications and maintenance procedures.
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment, including software installation, parts replacement and remote reporting.
• Collaborate closely with the Expertise Centre for all field activities.
• Report daily service activities in Salesforce and maintain strong customer relationships.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in electronics, electrical or mechanical engineering (or equivalent).
• Minimum 3 years experience as a Field Service Engineer.
• Fluent in reading, writing and speaking English.
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel extensively within South Africa.

Required skills

• Knowledge of electrical and mechanical engineering principles.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Understanding of TCP/IP and wireless connections.
• Experience using Salesforce CRM or similar systems.
