Warehouse Manager - KZN

About the role

AGL (Africa Global Logistics), a multimodal logistics operator (port, logistics, maritime and rail) now part of the MSC Group, is hiring a permanent Warehouse Manager for the KZN region based in Durban. The role manages warehousing and distribution end to end, supports the branch, ensures adherence to company policies and procedures, and covers staff supervision, inventory accuracy, safety compliance and timely order fulfilment.

Key responsibilities

• Compliance and safety: enforce health, safety and hygiene standards under the South African Occupational Health and Safety Act, including HACCP and ISO food safety protocols, hazardous chemicals and GWP requirements, and keep audit documentation up to date
• Security: manage security service providers, run daily, weekly and monthly reporting, conduct site inspections and align with the National Security Manager
• Finance: update costing schedules for invoicing, manage P&L profitability, submit labour provisions on time, review the monthly P&L, control costs and manage claims
• Equipment and facilities: maintain buildings, yards and equipment, source additional warehouses and keep site maintenance costs in line with the P&L
• Inventory and stock control: track inventory in real time using WMS, run cycle counts and stock audits, plan stock takes and control damaged goods
• Staff management: lead and develop warehouse teams, implement training, manage performance, discipline and labour broker contracts
• Project management: set up project plans, implement lean practices and automation, maintain departmental and customer KPIs and SOPs, and prepare monthly presentations
• CMA and bond store: follow collateral management procedures, manage bonded cargo, align the bond book with WMS, handle customs inspections and expired goods, and run weekly warehouse inspections
