Warehouse General Assistant

About the role

The Warehouse General Assistant supports the efficient operation of the warehouse by assisting receiving, dispatch, inventory and housekeeping teams. The role involves handling stock safely, verifying quantities, and ensuring accurate documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Assist receiving inspectors with processing DNU stock and segregating items as directed.
• Verify physical stock quantities against documentation and prepare Certificates of Conformance.
• Identify parts lacking certificates and refer them to the responsible person.
• Support the dispatch team with mezzanine clean‑up and organization of warehouse areas.
• Move, pack, and place stock in designated racks and storage locations.
• Assist the inventory team with stock movements and sorting to improve inventory management.
• Report any discrepancies, damaged items, or incorrect storage to the relevant team.
• Follow all warehouse, safety and stock‑handling procedures and maintain good housekeeping standards.

Required profile

• Grade 12 or equivalent (essential).
• Previous experience in a warehouse, stores, logistics or stock‑handling environment (advantageous).
• Physically fit and able to lift items weighing 20‑25 kg safely.
• Willingness to work weekends when required.
• Reliable personal transport.
• Professional attitude, ability to work both independently and as part of a team, integrity and proactive mindset.
