About the role
A vacancy exists for a Ward Clerk in High Care at Life Chatsmed Garden Hospital. Reporting to the Unit Manager, you will coordinate administrative tasks, manage unit stock and support billing processes.
Key responsibilities
- Perform all billing for the ward and ensure accurate patient accounts and cost sheets.
- Maintain preferred stock levels, place daily orders and manage stock transfers.
- Generate, place and follow up on orders, and handle IMEDS reports.
- Capture patient data, file records and carry out general clerical duties assigned by the Unit Manager and senior nurses.
- Participate in formulary implementation, cycle counts, stock takes and dead‑stock management.
- Maintain item master data and foster good relationships with other hospital departments.
Required profile
- Minimum 2 years of experience in an administrative or stock controller role (hospital experience preferred).
- Matric qualification.
- Strong customer service orientation.
Required skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email).
- Familiarity with hospital information systems such as SAP or Impilo.
