Various Construction Labourer & Operator Roles (City & Out‑of‑Town)

About the role

We are expanding our workforce for city and out‑of‑town construction projects. Positions include asphalt labourers, base and excavation labourers, tandem/water‑truck drivers, excavator operators and flaggers. All roles involve hands‑on work in a fast‑paced, outdoor environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform physical tasks such as shovelling, raking, sweeping and lifting materials.
• Operate equipment – packer, tandem/water‑truck, excavator and related heavy machinery.
• Check grades, spot trucks, dig for utilities and prepare sites for paving.
• Conduct pre‑trip inspections, load aggregates, and ensure on‑time delivery of road‑construction materials.
• Read and interpret blueprints, site plans and grade specifications for precise excavation.
• Maintain equipment through daily checks, lubrication and routine cleaning.
• Follow all safety regulations, identify hazards and perform site inspections before each shift.

Required profile

• Previous experience in construction, asphalt paving or road‑construction industries.
• Valid driver’s licence (Class 3 or Class 5) with a clean abstract.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and travel out of town when required.
• Willingness to work long hours, including weekends, as business needs dictate.
• Punctual, reliable, hard‑working and able to function well within a team.
• Physically fit to handle demanding manual labour.

Required skills

• Operation of heavy equipment – excavator, tandem/water‑truck, packer, back‑up loader trailers.
• Use of GPS/Trimble or similar positioning systems (preferred).
• Knowledge of construction materials and road‑building processes.
