About the role
The Personal Lines Underwriter and Claims Consultant will support advisers in a short‑term insurance broker office, handling both underwriting and claims processes for personal insurance products. This full‑time position is based in Blouberg, Cape Town and requires a strong background in short‑term insurance.
Key responsibilities
- Liaise with clients and advisers to gather information and provide service.
- Prepare quotations, issue new policies, renewals and endorsements.
- Maintain accurate records in the relevant systems and ensure compliance.
- Manage the end‑to‑end personal lines underwriting cycle, including renewals, endorsements, quotes, new business and re‑broking.
- Oversee personal lines claims from initiation to resolution, communicating professionally with clients throughout.
Required profile
- Grade 12 with NQF Level 4 full qualification in short‑term insurance (RE5 completed).
- Minimum eight years of experience in short‑term personal lines underwriting and claims.
- South African citizenship.
Required skills
- Proficiency with MS Office applications.
