Travel Specialist – Reservations & Tour Operations

About the role

Join a leading integrated tourism group in Southern Africa as a Travel Specialist. You will manage product reservations and tour operations, ensuring a seamless experience for clients and suppliers while upholding high standards of service and quality.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and process emails in the reservations shared mailbox, adhering to response standards.
• Respond to website live‑chat inquiries promptly and follow chat protocols.
• Prepare accurate quotes for accommodation, tours, transfers and charter proposals.
• Book and confirm tours, airport transfers, day tours and add‑on nights, managing supplier allocations and departure blocks.
• Handle invoicing, payments and supplier invoice submission while tracking profitability.
• Process cancellations and refunds in line with company policies.

Required profile

• Matric qualification.
• Extensive knowledge of South African tourist attractions, routes, distances and transport infrastructure.
• Experience with group series and FIT client reservations.
• Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Excellent problem‑solving, organisational and time‑management abilities.
• Attention to detail, basic financial understanding and a proactive, team‑oriented attitude.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of Tourplan reservation system.
• Proficiency with online reservation platforms.
• Microsoft Office suite – Word, Excel and Teams.
