Travel Specialist – Reservations & Tour Operations

About the role

The Travel Specialist will manage product reservations and scheduled tour operations, ensuring a seamless experience for clients and suppliers. Based in Bryanston, Johannesburg, the role is onsite and focuses on delivering high‑quality service across multiple travel channels.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and process emails in the reservations shared mailbox, adhering to response standards.
• Handle website live‑chat inquiries promptly and follow chat protocols.
• Prepare accurate quotes for accommodation, tours, transfers and charter proposals.
• Book and confirm tours, airport transfers, day tours, add‑nights and charter requests, managing supplier allocations.
• Invoice bookings, track pre‑payments, deposits and client accounts, and ensure timely supplier payments.
• Process cancellations and refunds in line with company policies.

Required profile

• Matric qualification.
• Extensive knowledge of South African tourist attractions, routes, distances and transport infrastructure.
• Strong verbal, telephonic and written communication skills.
• Excellent problem‑solving, organisational and time‑management abilities.
• Attention to detail, basic financial understanding and a proactive, team‑player attitude.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of Tourplan (advantageous).
• Proficiency with online reservation systems.
• Experience with FIT client reservations.
• Microsoft Office suite – Word, Excel and Teams.
