Trade Test Centre Moderator - Spray Painter

About the role

AIDC, a government-owned public entity supporting the South African automotive industry, is recruiting a Trade Test Centre Moderator for the Spray Painter trade in its Skills Development and Training department. The post is on a three-year fixed-term contract with a three-month probation, reporting to the Department Manager: Skills Development & Training. The incumbent moderates assessments at the Trade Test Centre and occasionally conducts assessments at the Learning Centre.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure evidence of the whole assessment process: planning, preparation, execution, VACCS-evidence judgement, recording and review of results.
• Plan and conduct trade moderation of outcomes-based assessment, judging evidence fairly and transparently, giving written feedback to assessors and reporting irregularities to the TTC Manager.
• Conduct ad-hoc assessments at the Learning Centre, follow the LC assessment policy and assessor code of conduct, give learners objective feedback and agree assessment action plans where needed.
• Complete and submit documentation under the TTC QMS policies, prepare reports for the ETQA Manager, NAMB and QCTO, evaluate assessment tools and contribute to monthly and quarterly reports.

Required profile

• Spray Painter Trade Test Certificate or Red Seal Certificate in Spray Painting.
• Moderator certificate.
• Minimum 4 years' work experience in the Spray Painter trade; 2 years as a moderator is advantageous.
• NAMB moderator registration is advantageous.
