Trade Test Centre Assessor - Panel Beater

About the role

AIDC, a government-owned public entity supporting the South African automotive industry, is recruiting a Trade Test Centre Assessor for the Panel Beater trade in its Skills Development and Training department. The post is on a permanent employment contract with a three-month probation, reporting to the Department Manager: Skills Development & Training, at the Rosslyn and Satellite sites.

Key responsibilities

• Quality assurance: ensure assessments follow NAMB and QCTO regulations, that candidates meet minimum entrance requirements and comply with medical and legal requirements, and develop and implement SOPs for trade testing
• Conduct trade tests according to the Gauteng Automotive Learning Centre specifications, check that evidence is sufficient, analyse it against the assessment criteria and refer non-competent candidates to the RPL process
• Provide objective feedback on candidate performance to the ETQA Manager
• Administrative support: present AIDC professionally, complete documentation, record assessment outcomes on the LMS, control stock of testing consumables, identify risks and support the Trade Test Manager
• Reporting: prepare post-testing performance and quality reports, monthly, quarterly and annual reports, evaluate compliance with legislation and maintain records

Required profile

• Panel Beater Trade Test Certificate or Red Seal Certificate in Panel Beating
• Assessor Certificate
• Minimum 4 years' work experience in the Panel Beater trade
• Registration as an Assessor with NAMB and 2 years as an Assessor are advantageous
