TMS Solutions Expert (M/F)

About the role

Africa Global Logistics South Africa (AGL) is hiring a permanent, full-time TMS Solutions Expert in Johannesburg. The Solutions Expert supports new and existing software in the production environment, providing application configuration and maintenance, assisting with problem management, proposing application changes and ensuring high customer service and adherence to agreed service levels. Escalated user queries are resolved through investigation, problem solving and troubleshooting.

Key responsibilities

• Act as a subject matter expert within the dedicated solution area and support the Solution Leader in understanding business needs and proposing customised solutions.
• Stay up to date with industry trends and product knowledge to advise clients on the most suitable solutions.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams and analyse complex client challenges to design effective solutions aligned with business goals.
• Troubleshoot production issues, perform detailed root cause analysis on escalated queries and liaise with vendors and central support.
• Perform application upgrades and preventative maintenance, and participate in building user acceptance testing for new and existing applications.
• Produce and maintain support documentation on the knowledge base and contribute to group application integrations.
• Keep professional knowledge current through workshops and training, and build long-term client relationships.

Required profile

• Extensive experience with the Transport Management System CarLo.
• Strong understanding of business processes and experience turning business requirements into technical solutions.
• Experience in freight forwarding, logistics and transport management is favourable.
• Ability to work independently and in a team, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Quick learner, able to deliver in-person and remote training, and willing to travel; a valid passport is required.
• Degree in Business Information Systems or similar is advantageous.

Required skills

• Freight forwarding business applications, SQL report writing and MS Power BI are advantageous.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint and Excel).
