Textile Production Manager

About the role

Ardmore Home is seeking an experienced, hands‑on Textile Production Manager to lead its luxury textile manufacturing team in Johannesburg. You will be responsible for delivering high‑quality products on schedule while driving efficiency and craftsmanship across the operation.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily manufacturing activities including cutting, sewing, finishing and packaging, ensuring targets are met.
• Coordinate in‑house production and external CMT partners, supporting seasonal launches.
• Maintain luxury quality standards through in‑line and final inspections, corrective actions and compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Work with Product Development and Planning to execute production schedules, manage material availability and support line balancing.
• Lead, train and motivate machinists, cutters, artisans and finishing teams, conducting performance reviews.
• Monitor raw material, WIP and finished‑goods inventory, conduct monthly stock takes and ensure accurate ERP data entry.
• Identify inefficiencies, implement process improvements and prepare daily/weekly performance reports.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing textile or apparel production environments.
• Strong leadership skills with a focus on team development and continuous improvement.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

• ERP systems (e.g., Sage) for inventory and production tracking.
• Lean manufacturing and process‑optimization techniques.
• Production planning, line balancing and capacity planning.
• Quality assurance and compliance management.
