Technician – Electronic & Mechanical Testing & Repair

About the role

We are looking for a Technician to provide cost‑effective electronic and mechanical testing, repair and support for our product range in Port Elizabeth. The role involves direct interaction with customers, ensuring repaired equipment meets original performance standards and contributing to continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Perform electronic and mechanical testing, diagnosis and repair of all supported products.
• Log failures and provide detailed feedback to the Quality, Production and R&D departments.
• Handle customer queries via live chat, phone, and ticketing system, ensuring responses meet SLA targets.
• Maintain accurate records in SAP, CRM and Zoho Desk, including service reports and repair documentation.
• Support ad‑hoc activities such as training, technical data updates, exhibitions and testing of new products.
• Adhere to Occupational Health and Safety standards and maintain a tidy work environment.
• Provide overtime, after‑hours and weekend support as required.

Required profile

• Currently studying or holding an N3/S2 qualification in Electronic, Mechanical or Electro‑Mechanical Engineering.
• Strong understanding of electronic concepts and practical hands‑on ability.
• Excellent customer service orientation and professional presentation.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with SAP for service and inventory management.
• Experience using CRM systems to track customer interactions.
• Familiarity with Zoho Desk ticketing platform.
