Technical SEO & Web Performance Specialist

About the role

Growth Resourcing is recruiting, on behalf of its client, a highly technical SEO and Web Performance Specialist for an office-based position in Umhlanga. The client is an established UK-based B2B technology provider offering mobile, VoIP, cloud, connectivity and Microsoft 365 solutions. The role takes ownership of the website's technical SEO, performance, search visibility and user experience, working closely with an external development partner.

Key responsibilities

• Own the technical SEO strategy and website performance, including Core Web Vitals (LCP, INP, CLS), page speed, mobile performance, images, scripts and third-party scripts.
• Conduct technical SEO audits and monitor crawling, indexing and rendering.
• Manage site architecture, internal linking, redirects, canonicalisation, robots.txt and XML sitemaps.
• Implement and validate structured data/schema.
• Diagnose and fix JavaScript and other technical issues affecting organic search.
• Provide technical SEO input for website changes, redesigns and new development.
• Use Google Search Console, Google Analytics, PageSpeed Insights, Lighthouse and Chrome DevTools, set benchmarks and report measurable improvements.
• Act as the technical SEO owner with the development partner: turn problems into developer requirements, review solutions and test changes.

Required profile

• 4+ years of technical SEO experience.
• Proven experience improving Core Web Vitals and website performance.
• Experience working directly with web developers and managing external development agencies.
• Ability to explain technical issues clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.

Required skills

• HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
• Google Search Console, Google Analytics, PageSpeed Insights, Lighthouse and Chrome DevTools.
• Screaming Frog, Ahrefs, Semrush or similar SEO tools.
• Git/GitHub, CDNs and caching (e.g. Cloudflare).
• React or Next.js, WordPress or another CMS, basic Python or SQL.
