Technical Learning and Development Manager

About the role

The Technical Learning and Development Manager will lead the design, delivery and continuous improvement of graduate, bursary and internal growth programmes for BET, working closely with Star Factory’s People team. This role bridges learning strategy with business needs, ensuring a high‑impact learner experience.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver end‑to‑end learning programmes such as graduate development, bursary support and internal growth initiatives aligned with BET’s talent and succession strategies.
• Act as the primary L&D liaison between Star Factory and BET, building relationships with people teams, line managers and programme sponsors, and ensuring alignment with broader HR initiatives.
• Oversee learner experience, monitoring progress, providing coaching, mentoring and development plans, and removing barriers to success.
• Track programme effectiveness using metrics, gather feedback and drive continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with SETA, QCTO and internal HR policies, manage vendor relationships and maintain audit‑ready documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in IT, systems development, business information systems or a related technical discipline; postgraduate qualification in L&D/OD is advantageous.
• 5–8 years’ experience in learning and development or talent development, with proven management of graduate or bursary programmes.
• Strong stakeholder management and partnership skills, preferably in client‑facing environments.
• Experience with SETA/QCTO frameworks is a plus.
