Team Leader - Accounting Practice (Fully Remote)

About the role

Humayn Consulting is a modern, cloud‑based accountancy firm seeking an experienced Team Leader to manage its remote accounting practice. The role blends technical accounting expertise with people‑focused leadership, supporting a portfolio of SME clients.

Key responsibilities

• Manage, mentor and support a team of Portfolio Managers and accounting professionals.
• Review accounting work, management accounts, reconciliations and financial reporting.
• Ensure high‑quality client service delivery across all portfolios.
• Assist the team with complex accounting, tax, payroll and compliance matters.
• Drive accountability, workflow management and meet deadlines.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships.
• Support process improvements and practice efficiencies.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to sustain firm growth.

Required profile

• Professional Accountant (SA) registered with the South African Institute of Professional Accountants.
• Completed articles and extensive post‑articles experience in an accounting practice or professional services environment.
• Proven experience leading or mentoring a team within an accounting practice.
• Strong background working with SME clients and outsourced accounting services.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, fully remote environment.
