Tax Consultant – Corporate Tax Advisory

About the role

PwC is looking for a qualified Tax Consultant to join its corporate tax practice serving the financial services sector. The role offers exposure to audit, compliance and advisory projects, allowing you to develop deep technical expertise in South African tax legislation.

Key responsibilities

• Perform tax audit reviews, including income tax and deferred tax accrual assessments.
• Prepare and review corporate tax accounting and compliance assignments, such as income tax and provisional tax returns.
• Draft tax opinions and structuring decks for business transactions, restructures and alternative courses of action.
• Participate in corporate tax due‑diligence projects and research complex tax issues.
• Interpret tax legislation, liaise with SARS and address queries.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, assurance teams and other stakeholders.

Required profile

• BCom degree majoring in Financial Accounting (mandatory).
• CA(SA) qualification or in the process of qualifying (mandatory).
• Post‑graduate tax qualification (optional).
• Relevant experience in the financial services industry.
