Tax and Compliance Accountant

About the role

Join a globally recognised organisation operating across multiple countries as a Tax and Compliance Accountant. You will become the tax expert behind the business, ensuring compliance, managing risk and supporting growth within a dynamic finance team based in Cape Town.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and review VAT calculations, submissions and reconciliations.
• Oversee PAYE compliance, payroll‑tax submissions and related queries.
• Support corporate income tax calculations, filings and schedule preparation.
• Monitor tax compliance deadlines across multiple entities and ensure adherence to evolving legislation.
• Handle VAT audits, SARS correspondence and identify potential compliance risks.
• Prepare audit‑ready tax files, liaise with external auditors and respond to audit queries.
• Identify process improvement opportunities, support automation initiatives and assist with tax risk reviews.

Required profile

• BCom Accounting, Taxation, Finance or a related qualification.
• Professional Accountant (SA) designation or tax qualification is advantageous.
• 2–5 years of experience in tax, compliance or corporate finance environments.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
