Tax Accountant – Financial Compliance & Advisory

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Tax Accountant to join a well‑established professional services firm in Bedfordview, Johannesburg. You will play a pivotal role in delivering high‑quality tax and accounting solutions that directly support client success.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full accounting function up to trial balance for a diverse client portfolio.
• Prepare accurate monthly management reports.
• Draft annual financial statements for companies, trusts, and sole proprietors using CaseWare.
• Prepare and submit income tax and VAT returns for individuals, companies, and trusts.
• Handle all SARS correspondence, including objections and debt suspension applications via eFiling.
• Provide professional tax and accounting advice to clients.
• Travel to client sites as required to maintain strong relationships.

Required profile

• Completed Accounting Degree (non‑negotiable).
• Completed articles – essential.
• 3‑5 years post‑article experience in an accounting firm or similar environment.
• Professional affiliation with SAICA, SAIPA, ACCA, CIMA, or SAIBA preferred.
• Valid driver’s licence and reliable vehicle (non‑negotiable).

Required skills

• Proficiency with Pastel accounting software.
• Experience using CaseWare for financial statements.
• Strong competency with SARS eFiling platform.
