T1 Technician – SouthDeep Mine

About the role

Schauenburg Systems is seeking a qualified T1 Technician to provide comprehensive technical services for electronic technology that supports health, safety and productivity at the SouthDeep Mine. The role involves installing, maintaining and supporting electronic equipment and systems in a high‑risk mining environment.

Key responsibilities

• Install, repair, certify and provide technical support for electronic products and systems on the mine.
• Set up and test units to meet specified requirements and perform quality checks in line with company policy.
• Troubleshoot issues, determine root causes and either implement corrective actions or escalate to senior staff.
• Maintain electronic equipment and associated software, ensuring compliance with standards and client scope.
• Document maintenance activities, report further requirements and assist with new projects.
• Operate hand and small power tools safely, maintain housekeeping standards and perform any reasonable duties assigned by supervisors.
• Liaise with other technical staff and on‑site customers to ensure quality, safety and contractual compliance.

Required profile

• N4 qualification in Electrical/Electronics.
• Minimum 4 years experience in electronics (hardware and software) and IT (hardware, networks, software).
• Valid driver’s licence and own vehicle.
• Immediate availability and residence close to the mine.

Required skills

• Electronics hardware and software knowledge.
• IT hardware, networking and software proficiency.
• Good computer skills, especially Microsoft Office suite.
• Familiarity with the company’s Advantage product.
