Support Field Technician – Solar & Renewable Energy

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Support Field Technician to join our fast‑growing solar and renewable energy team in Gauteng. You will work on‑site, troubleshooting and maintaining solar PV installations, ensuring optimal performance for our customers.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair faults in solar panels, inverters and related electrical equipment.
• Perform installations, maintenance, and component replacements on solar systems.
• Commission and configure new solar installations.
• Monitor system performance, apply firmware updates and conduct site inspections.
• Manage service tickets, documentation and provide technical support to customers.

Required profile

• Proven experience in technical support or field service.
• Strong fault‑finding and troubleshooting abilities.
• Knowledge of solar PV systems and inverters.
• Electrical knowledge (single‑phase; three‑phase is a plus).
• Basic networking understanding.
• Valid driver’s licence and reliable transport.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

What we offer

• Competitive salary ranging from R18 000 to R25 000 per month (CTC).
