Supply Chain Management Intern

About the role

Mintek’s Finance Division is seeking a motivated Supply Chain Management Intern to support its procurement activities. The intern will gain hands‑on experience in preparing RFQs, managing supplier databases, and assisting with tender evaluations while contributing to the overall efficiency of the supply chain function.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and administration of Request for Quotations (RFQs) and tender documents.
• Support supplier registration processes and maintain the supplier database.
• Help with procurement record keeping, document management, and briefing session administration.
• Compile monthly and quarterly procurement reports and ad‑hoc reports for the Head of SCM and Divisional Manager.
• Provide general administrative support to the SCM team, including scheduling and minute‑taking for tender evaluations.

Required profile

• South African citizenship.
• Enrolled in or recently completed a BCom/B‑Tech in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Purchasing or equivalent (NQF Level 7); Honours (NQF Level 8) is ideal.
• Strong academic record with at least a 60% average.
• Willingness to undergo psychometric testing.
• Ability to arrange personal accommodation and travel to the Randburg site.
