Summer Youth Program Director

About the role

The Summer Youth Program Director leads the planning, implementation, and evaluation of Camp Kiwanilong’s Summer Youth Program. This role ensures a safe, engaging, and development‑focused experience for campers in grades 2 through 9.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute the seasonal program curriculum, activities, and evaluation metrics.
• Oversee daily camp operations, including safety protocols, facility stewardship, and logistical coordination.
• Recruit, train, and supervise a team of high‑school and college‑age counselors.
• Collaborate closely with the Board of Directors, administrative staff, and camp ranger to align program goals with organizational mission.
• Monitor camper progress and adjust programming to support youth development and community connection.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing youth programs, camps, or similar seasonal initiatives.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse seasonal staff.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for working with parents, board members, and community partners.
• Commitment to creating a safe, inclusive, and enriching environment for children.
