Structural Quantity Surveyor – Ireland

About the role

A leading engineering contractor delivering complex projects across data centre, pharmaceutical, life sciences, industrial and advanced manufacturing sectors is looking for an experienced Structural Quantity Surveyor to join its Commercial team. The role covers commercial management of civil, structural and architectural packages from award to final account.

Key responsibilities

• Manage commercial delivery of civil, structural and architectural packages.
• Prepare detailed cost plans, budgets and financial forecasts.
• Perform quantity take‑offs from drawings and specifications; produce Bills of Quantities where required.
• Procure subcontract packages, issue enquiries, analyse tenders and make recommendations.
• Prepare subcontract documentation, assess and certify payment applications, and negotiate variations.
• Prepare interim valuations and client payment applications.
• Monitor project expenditure, produce monthly cost reports, cash‑flow forecasts and commercial updates.
• Identify commercial risks and opportunities, attend meetings and negotiate final accounts.
• Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and support continuous improvement within the Commercial Department.

Required profile

• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years post‑graduate Quantity Surveying experience.
• Proven experience managing civil, structural and architectural packages on large‑scale commercial or industrial projects.
• Strong understanding of reinforced concrete, structural steel, earthworks and architectural finishes.
• Knowledge of construction contracts and commercial management principles.

• CostX or Cubit (or similar commercial software)
