Storeman / Driver (Code 10) – Retail Warehouse

About the role

A busy retail warehouse operation in Bloemfontein is looking for a practical, organised Storeman/Driver to receive goods, pick and prepare customer orders and deliver them to clients. The role suits someone who is organised, detail-driven and able to multi-task, and is advertised as permanent.

Key responsibilities

• Receive goods using the correct procedure, ensuring paperwork is correct and goods are in good order
• Pick and dispatch customer orders accurately
• Load and unload trucks following the correct procedure
• Prepare and complete warehouse orders for delivery or pickup according to schedule
• Transport company products and materials safely and on time
• Follow safety best practices on the road and while loading or unloading, and obey traffic and warehouse laws
• Communicate with dispatchers, drivers and team members to make deliveries
• Perform basic truck maintenance, daily checks and logbook entries
• Track shipments, obtain customer signatures where needed and report discrepancies
• Support service-level improvements, respect confidentiality of customer data and carry out other tasks directed by the employer

Required profile

• National Senior Certificate (Grade 12)
• Valid Code 10 driver's licence with PDP
• 2-3 years' Code 10 driving experience in a retail warehouse, long and short distances
• No criminal record and no previous dismissals; previous employment will be verified
• Willingness to complete a polygraph and drug screening

The salary is market related and negotiable, stated as 8,000 to 10,000 per month. Preference is given to African females, Indian males and Coloured females in line with the employer's Employment Equity Plan.
