Solution Architect

About the role

Vodacom is seeking a Solution Architect to work closely with customers, translating business needs into technical designs for cloud and hosting services. The role supports the sales process by creating solution proposals and ensuring alignment with Vodacom’s product portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the bridge between customers, commercial teams, and technical groups, converting business requirements into detailed technical specifications.
• Provide consultancy to property developers, SMEs, business partners, and retail customers throughout the sales and presales phases.
• Support customers before, during, and after solution implementation, delivering presentations on emerging technologies and their impact.
• Identify opportunities for new solutions or product development within client environments.
• Respond to RFI/RFP requests and conduct research on ICT trends to inform product strategy.
• Collaborate with internal product and engineering teams as well as external suppliers and partners to align roadmaps and technology strategies.

Required profile

• 3‑year degree in IT, Engineering, or a related field (essential).
• 5‑10 years of relevant experience in IT or engineering.
• Industry certifications such as Cisco CCDP, CCNP, CCIE, or CISSP are preferred.
• Practical experience deploying LAN, WAN, and Unified Communications solutions is advantageous.
