Software Systems Engineer – Telecom Billing (3-month contract)

About the role

Our client, a leading player in the networks sector, is seeking a Software Systems Engineer on a three-month contract to support and enhance their telecommunications billing platform. The role combines deep technical design with hands-on development to ensure the billing ecosystem remains scalable, reliable and performant.

Key responsibilities

• Design, optimise and maintain complex billing solutions covering charging, CDR processing and transaction reconciliation.
• Develop and integrate event-driven components within a high-volume, mission-critical environment.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into robust software architecture.
• Implement performance, scalability and reliability improvements across the billing stack.
• Support cloud-native migration efforts, including containerisation and micro-service deployment.

Required profile

• Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or related field.
• Experience working with mobile network operators, MVNOs or telecom service providers.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and systems-thinking capabilities.
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
