ICT Network Engineer – Firewall & Networking (2-Year Fixed-Term)

About the role

The City of Tshwane is seeking an ICT Network Engineer to design, implement, administer and maintain secure network and firewall solutions. The role focuses on protecting the municipality’s information assets and ensuring network services meet security and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain enterprise firewall and network security solutions.
• Monitor, analyse and respond to network security events and incidents.
• Implement network security governance, risk management and business continuity measures.
• Support continuous improvement of network security services through collaboration and documentation.

Required profile

• Three-year tertiary qualification in IT, Computer Science, Network Engineering or related field.
• At least three years of hands-on network administration experience with routers, switches and firewall policy configuration.
• Relevant certifications such as Fortinet NSE or Fortinet Certified Professional are an advantage.
• Valid Code B driving licence and ability to undergo a criminal record check.
