Software Engineer (Java/Python)

About the role

Join ACI’s diverse team in Cape Town to develop and maintain high‑performance, secure payment processing software that handles thousands of transactions per second. You will work on always‑on, 24/7/365 systems that require top‑level quality, scalability and reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to design, develop, test and deliver performant, maintainable software solutions.
• Work within a small, agile team to implement features and resolve issues quickly.
• Identify and implement solutions to complex technical problems.
• Apply sound technical and business judgment when handling product requirements and design trade‑offs.
• Share knowledge by teaching and learning from colleagues.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience coding in an object‑oriented language, primarily Java and Python.
• Ability to quickly learn new languages and tools.
• Authorized to work in South Africa on a full‑time basis (no visa sponsorship).
