Software Engineer (Early Career, Full Stack & AI)

About the role

The Global Talent Co. is recruiting an early-career Software Engineer to join a company building the digital infrastructure for grant funding. The platform connects research across 18,000+ funding programmes, offers AI-supported analysis and application drafting, expert review and ongoing grant management. You will work directly with the CTO, who already has one successful exit, in a clean, fast, AI-native environment. The role suits someone early in their career who wants real responsibility and a steep learning curve, with a clear path toward a senior engineering role.

Key responsibilities

• Ship features end-to-end, from backend development through to the user interface, working across React, Node/Express, Postgres and AWS.
• Build software with a user-first mindset, working closely with the CTO and the grant team on real user problems.
• Help build the AI pipeline from week one, including prompt engineering, context management and AI evaluations, using tools such as Claude Code or Cursor.
• Trace and fix bugs in production using Sentry, CloudWatch and Postgres.
• Receive direct technical mentoring from the CTO, use code reviews as a learning tool and grow toward independent feature ownership.

Required profile

• 1-3 years of professional experience as a Software Engineer, or recent university graduation with strong technical projects.
• Solid fundamentals in TypeScript and/or JavaScript.
• High self-motivation, comfort with feedback, and a user-first, AI-native approach to development.
• Nice to have: first experience with AI tools or LLM APIs, German at B1 level or above, or a side project or open-source contribution.
