Senior Full Stack Engineer - AI

About the role

The company behind this role builds the digital infrastructure for grant funding, bringing together research across 18,000+ funding programmes, AI-supported analysis and application drafting, expert review and ongoing grant management. As a Senior Full Stack Engineer, you will work end-to-end on the platform, covering backend, frontend, infrastructure and the AI pipeline. You will be one of the first engineering hires, with significant ownership over technical decisions, engineering standards, architecture and the product itself.

Key responsibilities

• Build and ship end-to-end product features independently, including the user interface, working closely with the grant team on real user problems
• Develop and operate AI pipelines in production, including prompt engineering, context management, cost control and multi-provider setups with AWS Bedrock, Anthropic and OpenAI
• Own the company's AI evaluation practice, including prompt quality, model selection and regression detection, and use AI agents and tool-calling workflows where applicable
• Use AI-native development tools such as Claude Code or Cursor
• Operate, monitor and debug the live production environment with Sentry, CloudWatch and Postgres performance monitoring, and contribute to AWS infrastructure including ECS and RDS
• Shape the technical architecture, code quality, engineering standards and technical roadmap, and help set how the engineering team works

Required profile

• Several years of professional experience with TypeScript and Node.js
• Strong full-stack capabilities and hands-on experience building and operating AI pipelines in production
• Experience working with LLMs and AI-powered applications, and strong debugging skills in live production systems
• High level of autonomy and ownership, able to identify problems and close the loop without hand-holding
• Nice to have: German at B1 level or above, and experience with AI agents and tool-calling workflows in production
