Software Developer – Intermediate

About the role
We are looking for an intermediate software developer to join our Johannesburg squad. You will collaborate with a supportive team to build high‑quality, automated solutions that improve tax recovery.
Key responsibilities
- Write readable, maintainable, and modular code using modern engineering tools.
- Design and deliver well‑tested solutions with test‑driven development and strong quality standards.
- Develop and integrate RESTful microservices within a scalable, distributed platform.
- Follow an established development lifecycle, including code reviews, continuous integration, and automation.
- Participate in technical discussions and shared decision‑making with your squad.
- Stay curious about new technologies and propose improvements.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 3‑5 years of experience as an intermediate developer.
- Strong communication skills and a team‑first mindset.
Required skills
- Object‑oriented programming.
- Experience with Salesforce Apex or Java Spring (or similar frameworks).
- Building RESTful APIs/microservices.
- Test‑driven development.
- Continuous integration and automation pipelines.
- Agile development practices.
