Software Architect (12‑Month Contract)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Software Architect to join a leading banking institution in Sandton on a 12‑month contract. You will shape scalable, secure, and high‑performing enterprise solutions in a regulated financial services environment.

Key responsibilities

• Define and maintain end‑to‑end solution architecture across enterprise systems.
• Translate business requirements into scalable, secure technical designs.
• Provide architectural guidance to development and integration teams.
• Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture standards and governance frameworks.
• Design cloud‑ready and microservices‑based architectures where applicable.
• Oversee system integration, API, and data‑flow design.
• Conduct architecture reviews and enforce security and risk compliance.
• Collaborate with DevOps teams to improve CI/CD and deployment strategies.
• Support modernization initiatives and legacy system transformation.

Required profile

• 8–12+ years of experience in software development and architecture roles.
• Proven experience as a Software Architect or Senior Solution Architect, preferably in banking or financial services.
• Strong background in enterprise application design and security architecture for regulated environments.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
