Social Media Manager

About the role

We are looking for a creative and commercially driven Social Media Manager to own the social media presence, content strategy, and digital community management for a leading South African FMCG, food & beverage, HoReCa and lifestyle group. The role will drive brand visibility, audience engagement and revenue‑generating digital campaigns across multiple subsidiary brands.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute social media strategies for the company and all subsidiary brands.
• Manage Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, WhatsApp Channels/Broadcasts and YouTube accounts.
• Plan and oversee monthly content calendars, ensuring alignment with brand tone and commercial objectives.
• Coordinate promotional campaigns, product launches, seasonal contests and influencer collaborations.
• Execute paid social campaigns in partnership with marketing managers or external agencies.
• Handle community management by responding to comments, messages and customer interactions promptly.
• Monitor, analyse and report on social media performance metrics with actionable insights.
• Collaborate with the Graphic Designer and Marketing team to brief and produce content.
• Identify and manage influencer and creator partnerships where relevant.

Required profile

• 2–4 years of proven experience in social media management and digital marketing.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple social media accounts and brands simultaneously.
• Strong analytical, data‑driven approach to performance reporting.
• Excellent copywriting, communication and creative skills.
• Experience in FMCG, retail, food & beverage, HoReCa, liquor, lifestyle or eCommerce is advantageous.

Required skills

• Hands‑on knowledge of Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn and Meta Business Suite.
• Experience with WhatsApp Channels/Broadcasts and YouTube.
