Site Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Site Engineer to lead facilities, maintenance, utilities and site services at our Bellville location. The role ensures equipment reliability, operational uptime and a safe, compliant environment while driving engineering improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all equipment maintenance and reliability initiatives.
• Implement preventive and planned maintenance systems.
• Manage machine breakdowns and conduct root‑cause problem solving.
• Support automation, PLC systems and production technology.
• Oversee site utilities including electrical, HVAC, compressed air and water systems.
• Manage facilities, infrastructure and contractor services.
• Ensure compliance with safety, GMP and operational standards.
• Oversee site services such as security, cleaning, waste and pest control.
• Lead engineering and continuous‑improvement projects.
• Support equipment installation, commissioning and optimisation.
• Implement and manage CMMS/maintenance systems.
• Develop maintenance KPIs and reporting systems.

Required profile

• 5‑8 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Hands‑on engineer with strong technical expertise across mechanical, electrical and automation systems.
• Proactive, solutions‑driven and able to lead projects while collaborating with internal and external partners.
• Detail‑oriented, structured and accountable for site performance and reliability.
• Willingness to provide after‑hours support when required.
