Site Coordinator - Laboratory Infrastructure Upgrades

About the role

A multinational NGO that builds stronger health systems through data-driven solutions is looking for a Site Coordinator in Cape Town, South Africa. The role supervises laboratory infrastructure upgrade work in line with international best practices and the work plan, and suits someone with a strong laboratory medicine background and knowledge of civil engineering aspects of research and diagnostics laboratories.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise infrastructure upgrade delivery at the assigned site under the Project Manager.
• Ensure client expectations for individual works are met.
• Maintain tasks according to specifications, drawings and dimensions, within agreed limits.
• Evaluate construction material quality against the site construction plan and assess quantities against the bill of quantities.
• Ensure specifications are bio-safety level II laboratory grade and that sufficient resources are available for each phase.
• Use project management tools to give daily site updates.

Required profile

• National Diploma in Medical Laboratory Science/Technology or Building and Construction, or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of related laboratory remodeling, renovation or building experience.
• Necessary practice license.
• Project Management certification is an advantage; ability to read architectural drawings is desired.
