SEO Manager – Remote (Client‑Facing Strategic Role)

About the role

Pontifex Digital is seeking a remote SEO Manager to own the client‑facing side of its organic search function. This strategic, quality‑control position sits above the execution team and serves as the authoritative voice for clients on all SEO matters.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary client‑facing authority on SEO, handling calls, explaining progress with concrete examples, and managing the end‑to‑end organic relationship.
• Validate and quality‑check all reports and deliverables from the SEO team before they reach the client, ensuring accuracy and alignment with contractual commitments.
• Hold SEO team members accountable for turnaround times and output quality, proactively addressing gaps and inconsistencies.
• Own the full contractual scope of each account, tracking and evidencing every deliverable the client has paid for.
• Incorporate full user‑journey mapping, Answer Engine Optimization (AEO), Reddit/community visibility, and LLM sentiment into client strategies.
• Set strategic direction for each account and translate it into executable tasks with the SEO specialists and delivery team.

Required profile

• Excellent client communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong strategic mindset with the ability to anticipate gaps before they become client‑facing issues.
• Experience overseeing SEO teams and ensuring delivery against contractual obligations.
• Ability to think beyond traditional rankings to include user journey, AEO, and emerging search platforms.
