Senior Software Engineer (Remote)

About the role

A recruiter representing a client based in the USA is offering a permanent remote Senior Software Engineer position. Key responsibilities

• Assist customers with the implementation of new and existing programmes.
• Provide knowledge transfer and mentoring so customers can build their first applications and customise existing ones.
• Work with customers on site to install software, build example solutions and train staff.
• Take part in pre-sales and post-sales activities.

Required profile

• Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
• Previous experience in scoping, estimating, requirements capture, project management and presenting.
• Professional approach to communicating with customers and prospects.
• Proficiency in English; foreign languages are an advantage.

Required skills

• Unix knowledge, particularly scripting.
• A major database such as Oracle, DB2, Teradata, Sybase or Informix.
• Programming in C, C++, Java, COBOL or another procedural or OO language.
• Business metadata, scheduling, data quality and data cleansing (e.g. SAS DataFlux, Trillium).
• Real-time applications or web services, data warehousing and big data applications.
