Senior Service Technician

About the role

Wärtsilä is seeking a Senior Service Technician to join its field service team in Cape Town. You will be responsible for maintaining and repairing Wärtsilä marine and energy equipment, ensuring high quality work and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repair jobs on Wärtsilä products.
• Execute tasks assigned by the Field Service Team Leader.
• Use and maintain shop and field tools following good mechanical practices.
• Prepare and submit parts requisitions as needed.
• Maintain accurate time sheets and expense records for invoicing.
• Ensure professional appearance and conduct on site.
• Adhere to manufacturers' specifications, ISO procedures, and safety regulations.
• Care for Wärtsilä specialty tools used in service work.
• Provide positive interactions with customers to ensure satisfaction.
• Submit high‑quality service reports within 48 hours of returning from a job.
• Promote Wärtsilä products and services.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical or Marine Engineering.
• Ability to follow safety rules and use appropriate safety equipment.
• Commitment to quality, efficiency, and compliance with ISO procedures.

Required skills

• Mechanical maintenance and repair of marine and energy equipment.
• Use and care of shop and field tools, including Wärtsilä specialty tools.
• Preparation and submission of parts requisitions.
• Accurate service reporting within 48 hours of job completion.
