Senior Security Technician – Glencore Mine

About the role

Aviner is seeking a Senior Security Technician to support the Glencore Mine site in Durbanville. The role focuses on installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electronic security systems while ensuring compliance with client agreements and health‑and‑safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Install and maintain electronic security equipment, including access control, intrusion detection, and IP surveillance systems.
• Communicate regularly with the client to build strong relationships and ensure service level agreement (SLA) compliance.
• Prepare and manage documentation such as registers, overtime sheets, route sheets, and fault reports.
• Submit work‑in‑progress and financial impact reports, and provide feedback to the SLA Manager.
• Be available on standby and respond to emergency calls as required.
• Lead small projects, overseeing planning, execution, and hand‑over.

Required profile

• Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
• Valid PSIRA certification and driver’s licence.
• Clean disciplinary, criminal and credit record.
• Proven experience in the electronic security industry.

Required skills

• Access Control, Intrusion Detection and IP Surveillance systems.
• Strong network knowledge (advantageous).
• SQL knowledge (advantageous).
• Certification/experience with Avigilon, Milestone, Prowatch, Risco, Ziton ZP2 fire systems, and Gallager equipment.
• Excellent installation, troubleshooting and fault‑finding abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
