SHE Manager – Perishable Products (Western Cape)

About the role

We are seeking a proactive SHE Manager to lead Safety, Health, Environmental and Security functions for Libstar’s Perishable Products division in George, Western Cape. The role is responsible for developing and implementing SHE strategies, ensuring compliance with legislation and ISO standards, and driving a culture of risk mitigation across the plant.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and monitor SHE and security management systems, including hazard identification, risk assessments and audits.
• Ensure legal compliance with all relevant safety, environmental and security legislation.
• Set and track SHE objectives and targets in collaboration with the management team.
• Coordinate internal and external audits, and prepare incident investigations with corrective actions.
• Maintain document control, reporting and KPI dashboards on a weekly and monthly basis.
• Manage the SHE budget and supervise subordinate staff, including performance appraisal.
• Liaise with department managers, local authorities, suppliers and governmental agencies.

Required profile

• Safety Management Certificate (SAMTRAC) or B Tech degree/diploma.
• SHE Auditor Certificate (SAATCA) and Grade A/Diploma in Security Management.
• Environmental Management Certificate or diploma.
• 5‑10 years’ experience in safety, security and environmental roles within an industrial setting.
• Excellent communication, presentation and report‑writing abilities.
• Valid driver’s licence and own vehicle.
