Deputy Chief – Security Services (2 positions)

About the role

The Buffalo City Metropolitan Municipality is seeking two Deputy Chiefs for its Chief Security Services division. The role involves overseeing security and protection services across multiple sites, ensuring compliance with policies, and managing risk and incident response.

Key responsibilities

• Formulate and align key deliverables and outcomes for security operations.
• Oversee personnel and performance management of the security section.
• Prepare operating estimates and control expenditure.
• Implement plans, procedures, systems and controls related to risk analysis, loss control, incident investigation and protection.
• Manage compliance with security policies and procedures.

Required profile

• National Diploma in Security Management or a related field.
• PSIRA Registration certificate Grade A.
• Valid code B/EB driver’s licence.
• Five years’ experience in security management, including three years at supervisory level managing multi‑site guarding operations.
• Computer literacy skills; project management experience is an advantage.
