Senior Project Manager – Public Sector IT Delivery

About the role

The Senior Project Manager will lead the delivery of complex IT projects for public‑sector clients. You will own the full project lifecycle, from planning through execution to final hand‑over, ensuring outcomes are on time, within budget and meet the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead large‑scale, multi‑disciplinary IT projects for government organisations from initiation to closure.
• Act as the primary liaison for client stakeholders, including senior government officials, building strong collaborative relationships.
• Provide strategic consulting to align technology solutions with client business objectives.
• Oversee the implementation of enterprise integration solutions, ensuring seamless connectivity across systems.
• Manage cross‑functional teams of business analysts, architects, developers and QA testers.
• Identify risks early, develop mitigation plans and control project budgets, schedules and resources.
• Prepare and present regular status, financial and executive briefings to internal and client leadership.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of project management experience, with at least 5 years in a senior or lead role.
• Proven track record delivering projects in the public sector or for state‑owned entities.
• Hands‑on experience with enterprise integration implementations from multinational software vendors.
• Background in consulting or professional services.
• Experience with both Agile and Waterfall methodologies and tools such as JIRA and Microsoft Project.
• Relevant tertiary education (Computer Science, IT) and certifications (PMP, PRINCE2, Agile).
