Senior Project Manager – Mining Projects (Cape Town)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead complex, end‑to‑end capital projects for mining solutions in our Cape Town office. You will own the full project lifecycle, from proposal through commissioning, ensuring delivery on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and mobilise project teams during enquiry and award stages, leading kick‑off meetings and securing client sign‑off on scope, schedule and commercial terms.
• Develop and manage detailed project schedules, budgets and quality plans, overseeing design, engineering, procurement, fabrication, installation and commissioning.
• Manage supplier relationships, resolve technical and commercial issues, and enforce HS&E plans across all phases.
• Identify, monitor and mitigate project risks, handle change requests and ensure financial and schedule impacts are documented.
• Report progress to the Project Engineering Manager and maintain clear communication with clients and internal disciplines.

Required profile

• B.Tech / B.Sc / B.Eng in Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronic Engineering.
• Project Management qualification and registration (or eligibility) with ECSA.
• 10–12 years of project management experience in mining, oil & gas, mineral processing or heavy engineering.
• Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills with ability to work under pressure.
• Willingness to travel and work flexible or extended hours as required.
