Senior Officer: Stakeholder Relations

About the role

The Road Accident Fund's mission is to provide timely and equitable assistance to people affected by motor vehicle accidents through social benefits that give financial relief and recovery. This Senior Officer position reports to the Manager: Stakeholder and Intergovernmental Relations and is accountable for helping identify, plan and deliver stakeholder engagement plans and programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement operational plans to build and maintain relations with stakeholder clusters valued by the RAF, including project planning, customer engagement, implementing the fraternity stakeholder engagement strategy, conducting stakeholder mapping and needs analysis, and running an environmental scan.
• Identify and analyse stakeholder needs, coordinate logistics and administration, develop a database of MoUs and identify operational areas where MoUs function.
• Coordinate stakeholder engagement events and related logistics, run awareness and information campaigns, facilitate advocacy and public education material, manage project planning and reporting, and maintain the sub-component budget expenditure.
• Contribute to Regulation reports and help develop functional reporting systems for management, project or performance reporting.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or advanced diploma in Public Relations, Marketing or Communications, or a related qualification.
• Approximately 4 years' experience in marketing, intergovernmental relations or communications.
• Proficiency in at least three official languages.
• Foreign qualifications must be evaluated by SAQA and proof provided.

Required skills

• Planning, organising and coordinating; project management and report writing.
• Understanding of corporate communication processes in both business and private sectors.
• Networking, advocacy and professional communication with internal and external stakeholders.
