Senior Manager Risk Management – National Office (5‑year contract)

About the role

The Senior Manager will lead the Risk Management function for the National Office, ensuring that the organisation meets its strategic objectives while complying with internal policies and legislation. This is a five‑year fixed‑term position based in Pretoria.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, assess and monitor key risks across the organisation and maintain the corporate risk register.
• Develop and implement risk policies, strategies and frameworks, driving continuous improvement.
• Integrate business continuity and disaster recovery plans into a unified corporate plan.
• Lead the compliance function, creating policies aligned with legal and regulatory requirements and securing Board approval.
• Oversee compliance frameworks, monitor performance, and support business units in resolving non‑compliance issues.
• Align the sub‑unit with corporate goals through planning, performance management and accountability systems.
• Manage financial performance, targets, and risk‑related opportunities, supporting the development of the unit’s vision and strategic direction.

Required profile

• Degree in Risk Management, Auditing or a related field.
• Professional registration with a relevant body (e.g., IRMSA).
• Minimum 10 years of experience in risk and/or compliance management, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
• Strong competencies in risk management, compliance, administration, records and document management.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation, governance, policy development, project management and auditing.
