Senior Lecturer in Building and Human Settlements

About the role

The Senior Lecturer will lead teaching, research and community engagement in Building and Human Settlement Development at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The role supports the university’s mission to produce skilled professionals and advance knowledge in the built environment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality teaching and mentorship to undergraduate and postgraduate students.
• Design, develop and continuously improve learning programmes and modules.
• Conduct original research, publish in accredited journals and secure research funding.
• Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research projects.
• Participate in university governance, committees and external professional bodies.
• Present research findings at national and international conferences.

Required profile

• Deep knowledge of Human Settlements policy development and management.
• Proven ability to teach and assess at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
• Experience with sustainable and alternative construction technologies.
• Track record of supervising postgraduate research.
• National recognition in the Human Settlement and Management discipline.

Required skills

• Proficiency with software technologies used in the built environment and human settlement sector.
• Expertise in sustainable construction technologies.
• Understanding of housing and human settlement development policies.
