Senior Infrastructure Architect

About the role

The Senior Infrastructure Architect will lead the design, governance and transformation of enterprise‑wide infrastructure environments for a leading organisation in Gauteng. You will create scalable, secure and resilient architectures that align with strategic objectives while guaranteeing high availability, performance and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Define and govern enterprise infrastructure architecture across networking, hosting, storage and security.
• Lead large‑scale infrastructure transformation programmes, including data‑centre modernisation and cloud migration.
• Design and implement high‑availability solutions that meet internal and external SLAs.
• Manage Oracle product portfolios, licensing, renewals and support contracts.
• Ensure adherence to formal SDLC methodologies and architecture frameworks such as TOGAF.
• Participate in architecture review boards and stakeholder engagement activities.

Required profile

• Minimum 20 years of enterprise ICT infrastructure experience.
• At least 10 years in infrastructure or enterprise architecture roles.
• Proven track record delivering large‑scale transformation projects in complex organisations.
• TOGAF 9, ITIL Foundation, CCNA, CCNP and CCDP certifications.

Required skills

• Enterprise networking and Cisco enterprise solutions.
• Data‑centre design, disaster recovery and business continuity.
• Cloud platforms: Microsoft Azure, hybrid cloud architecture, cloud integration.
• Virtualisation: VMware, Microsoft Hyper‑V.
• Microsoft technologies: Windows Server, Active Directory.
• Oracle products, licensing and support services.
• F5 load‑balancing, unified communications, network design and optimisation.
